Woopra Plugin for Habari

A couple of days ago, I received an approval email from Woopra to try their beta, having read and heard much about this new service, I was very excited to check it out. So I downloaded the client and pasted the code into my footer template and viola, I'll never wait a whole day again to see who visited my site, I can see them as they do!

Woopra is still in beta but it's already cool. To see what I'm taking about definitely check out their features page.

I just finished writing a Woopra plugin for Habari. Its mere purpose is to allows site admins to insert the Woopra tracking code into their site pages. It also optionally allows site admins to tag their registered users so Woopra's client can display their names and avatar images, so you are able to identify your visitors :)

Download and Installation

  1. Download the Habari Woopra Plugin (woopra.zip).
  2. Extract to the /user/plugins directory of your Habari installation.
  3. Go to the plugins page of your Habari admin panel.
  4. Click on the Activate button for Woopra plugin.

Configuration

After activating the plugin, you'll need to specify your Site ID. You can obtain your site id from Woopra member area.
You can also specify whether you want to tag members of your site when they visit, check the 'Enabled' check box and decide what type of avatar you want Woopra to display for those visitors:

  • Disabled: No avatar is displayed
  • Local user image: Habari has a field to specify the image URL for registered users, this option will set Woopra to display that image.
  • Gravatar: Based on the registered user email, his/her Gravatar will be displayed in Woopra.

Future Plans

Woopra will hopefully be releasing their API very soon, which does seem very promising. When they do, I'll try to update the plugin with whatever cool feature the API will provide.
